Katie Pavlich Quietly Walks Away From the Network That Made Her Famous

Katie Pavlich Leaves Fox News, Joins NewsNation Primetime

Katie Pavlich, longtime Fox News contributor and former Townhall editor, is making a major career move. She will leave the network that brought her national fame to anchor her own primetime show on NewsNation at 10 p.m. Eastern Time, debuting in early 2026.

A New Chapter at NewsNation

NewsNation announced Pavlich’s hiring on December 15, highlighting her extensive experience. Since 2013, she has appeared regularly on Fox News as a contributor, guest co-host on The Five, and guest-hosted multiple primetime shows.

In her new role, Pavlich will cover political news, culture, immigration, national security, and foreign policy. Her show will include dynamic panels, spirited debates, and in-depth interviews with newsmakers.

Pavlich expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity:

“I am honored to join NewsNation during this dynamic period. Anchoring a primetime program is an exceptional privilege. I look forward to bringing a fresh perspective and creating a venue for thoughtful debate across a wide spectrum of opinions.”

Stepping Away from Fox and Townhall

Along with leaving Fox, Pavlich is stepping down from her 16-year role as news editor at Townhall.com. Variety and other outlets reported this as a full pivot to her new chapter at NewsNation.

Sean Compton, president of NewsNation and Nexstar Networks, praised her addition:

“Katie is a seasoned journalist and commentator. Her unique voice will be a tremendous asset to our primetime lineup.”

NewsNation’s Growing Primetime Block

Pavlich joins a lineup that already includes Elizabeth Vargas at 7 p.m., Chris Cuomo at 8 p.m., and Leland Vittert at 9 p.m. NewsNation has increasingly attracted former Fox talent, such as Chris Stirewalt and Geraldo Rivera. The network aims to blend viewpoints across the political spectrum while providing fact-based reporting.

Pavlich’s Career and Influence

Pavlich gained prominence with her 2012 bestseller Fast and Furious: Barack Obama’s Bloodiest Scandal, followed by Assault & Flattery: The Truth About the Left and Their War on Women in 2014. She became a familiar face on Fox programs, known for her sharp commentary on immigration, free speech, and Second Amendment issues.

Looking Ahead

Her departure underscores her shift from contributor roles to anchoring her own primetime show. NewsNation expects Pavlich’s show to attract viewers interested in political analysis and spirited debate.

As NewsNation expands its national footprint, Pavlich’s addition reinforces the network’s strategy to provide engaging primetime content across the political spectrum.
