On Thursday, August 7, 2025, Suri Cruise visited her mother, Katie Holmes, on the set of Holmes’s upcoming movie, “Happy Hours,” in New York City.

The visit drew immediate public attention to her striking resemblance to her father, Tom Cruise. Cameras captured the actress walking alongside her 19-year-old daughter during a break in filming. She wore a long button-down shirt with a vivid blue, green, and purple pattern tied loosely at the waist, layered over light blue pants and paired with black sneakers.

She had her hair pulled up in a casual bun and held what could have been a script. Suri kept her look relaxed with a white ruched tank top, olive-green cargo pants, bright red sneakers, and a brown belt. She carried a leather shoulder bag and wore her dark brown hair down.

Though Suri has mostly stayed out of the public eye, she appeared comfortable and at ease beside her mother. Photos of the pair quickly circulated online, prompting fans to comment on how much Suri resembles her father.

Suri’s appearance comes more than a decade after Holmes and Cruise’s high-profile split. The former couple divorced in June 2012 after five years of marriage. At the time, Katie’s attorney stated, “This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family. Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”

Tom’s representative shared, “Kate has filed for divorce, and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy.” Soon after, it was revealed that Katie was granted primary physical custody of Suri, with Tom receiving generous visitation rights.

Since the divorce, Katie has been committed to protecting her daughter’s privacy. In a 2023 interview, she explained, “What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her. I’m very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She’s an incredible person.”

“I hope she always does something on my films. I always ask her,” Katie stated. “But both of those experiences came out of the same sense of what I love about our industry, which is, you have these projects and you become a family with people. And it’s this safe, beautiful, creative space.”

“So it comes out of love for me to include someone who I love dearly,” she continued. “That’s how I like to work. I like to have that kind of feeling. It was very meaningful to me to have her there, because she’s my heart.”

Katie, speaking generally about the transition, said, “I’m proud of my daughter. Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy. I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that.”
