When you are a public official, your life is basically an open book. You may have to answer questions about the life you live in an official capacity and at times, you may even have to answer personal questions.
27-year-old White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is learning how much she needs to speak about her personal life. She recently talked about her relationship with her 59-year-old husband, Nicholas Riccio.
Many people have a problem with their 32-year age difference, but she said: “It’s a very atypical love story, but he’s incredible. He is my greatest supporter, he’s my best friend, he’s my rock.
“A mutual friend of ours hosted an event at a restaurant that he owns up in New Hampshire and invited my husband. I was speaking. We met, we were acquainted as friends and then we fell in love.”
Leavitt was the White House assistant press secretary under Donald Trump and worked in Washington DC. Eventually, she would become the communications director for representative Elise Stefanik.
After running for Congress in 2022, she was not elected but she did get more attention in the Republican Party. This would eventually lead to her playing a part in Trump’s second administration.
Leavitt also spoke with a real estate developer, Nicholas Riccio during her campaign. They would later get married, so despite her political loss, she ended up winning because of having a great partner. These days, Leavitt is the youngest White House Press Secretary in the history of the United States, and she continues to do her job well.
Leavitt was engaged in 2023 and they had their son in July. That son, Nicholas Robert “Niko” Riccio is now eight years old. Leavitt married her husband two weeks before Donald Trump was inaugurated in January and she described the wedding day as being ‘one of my favorite days’.
She talks about his success as a businessman and how she supports him and he supports her in their respective careers. She also says that his encouragement has been valuable during this hectic time in their lives.
