Kanye West Legally Changes Name Again

According to reports, this is Kayne West’s second name change.

The contentious musician, who legally changed his first name to Ye in 2021, has made headlines this year for all the wrong reasons.

He declared that he ‘loves Hitler’ and that he is ‘a Nazi’ during an anti-Semitic tirade on X back in February. A few months later, he published the single “Heil Hitler” and began selling clothes with the Swastika logo on his website.

At the Grammys, he reportedly’split’ from his wife Bianca Censori, with whom he posed while she was wearing an eye-opening ‘bare’ dress that he had designed.

However, a number of’remorseful’ tweets he wrote last month have raised doubts about their genuineness.

“I am done with antisemitism,” he tweeted on 22 May, adding, “God forgive me for the pain I’ve caused.”

The father of four, then known as Ye, claimed that he had a change of heart after having a FaceTime conversation with his kids, whom he shares with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

The ‘Stronger’ rapper now seems to be changing a lot of things, including his name.

The outlet says it has ‘new business records in California’ that show the Ye’s name change, according to Page Six.

According to reports, ‘Ye Ye’ is the name of new documents filed by his top financial officer, Hussain Lalani.

According to the publication, the new name is on documents related to several of his companies, such as Getting Out Our Dreams Inc., Yeezy Apparel, and Yeezy Record Label, LLC.

Ye, or Ye Ye as he is now supposedly called, has not yet made his purported name change public.

However, the 24-time Grammy winner posted on X at the beginning of the month, “I’m going to stop using the @kanyewest Twitter because my name is Ye.”

“Gonna start a ye account and it is what it is.”

It follows reports that in March 2024, Milo Yiannopoulos, his head of staff, requested that West be called Ye in a letter that Page Six was able to access.

“Ye is one of the most recognisable people in the world, on par with presidents and popes,” the letter reportedly read.

“He didn’t take the decision to change his name, potentially sacrificing some of the immense value captured by the brand of ‘Kanye West,’ lightly. The change was made fully, legally, and permanently. This is who he is now. His name is Ye.”

‘Streaming platforms, publishers, retailers, unions, lyrics websites and data resellers’ should adopt the new name, according to the British far-right political analyst.

“He has on several occasions referred to it as his slave name,” he added. “Ye is a black man in America who wants the right to full self-determination just like everyone else.”
