Jimmy Kimmel Returns to the Public Eye After ABC Suspends His Show

Jimmy Kimmel Spotted After ABC Suspends His Show

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, Jimmy Kimmel made a rare public appearance in Los Angeles, just one day after ABC indefinitely pulled “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”. The 57-year-old talk show host was seen outside his attorney’s office, sparking a social media frenzy.

Clad in a navy button-down and black slacks, Kimmel stepped out of a sleek black Audi. He carried a notepad, car keys, and wallet, while dark sunglasses partially hid his expression. Though he briefly smiled at photographers, many online users noted a more somber demeanor.

ABC Pulls the Plug

ABC’s suspension followed Nexstar Media Group’s decision to stop airing Kimmel’s show across more than 200 stations in 116 markets. Nexstar cited objections to Kimmel’s remarks about Conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination and replaced the show with alternative programming.

The network’s sudden action ignited debate over free speech and accountability in late-night television.

The Monologue That Sparked Controversy

The controversy began during Kimmel’s Monday night monologue, where he criticized political reactions to Kirk’s death.

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them,” Kimmel said.

He mocked President Trump’s response, showing footage of the president discussing a White House ballroom project instead of expressing personal grief. Kimmel quipped:

“This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he called a friend. This is how a 4-year-old mourns a goldfish.”

Trump Fires Back

On September 18, Trump addressed Kimmel’s suspension during a press conference with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

“Jimmy Kimmel was fired because he had bad ratings more than anything else. He said a horrible thing about a great gentleman known as Charlie Kirk, and Jimmy Kimmel is not a talented person. They should have fired him a long time ago,” Trump said.

The Aftermath

As photos of Kimmel circulate online, public speculation continues. Some see a broken man. Others see someone unaffected by the controversy.

For now, all eyes remain on Kimmel. Will he break his silence and respond? Only time will tell.
