According to Fox19, a suspect was arrested after JD Vance’s Cincinnati residence was vandalized, leaving visible damage and a shaken neighborhood.

Police allege the suspect used a hammer to smash four windows at the home and also damaged a vehicle on the property. Officers arriving at the scene were met with broken glass, panic, and an active search for the suspect.

The situation escalated further when the vandal allegedly fled on foot, prompting a brief manhunt. During the escape, police say the suspect attempted to break a police cruiser’s window, adding another dramatic twist to the night.

The suspect was later identified by police as William DeFoor, who was taken into custody without further damage reported. Authorities have emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that all allegations remain pending formal court proceedings.

As first reported by the New York Post, DeFoor is allegedly the child of a wealthy local doctor from a prominent Cincinnati family. The report notes that his parents are well known in the area, adding public attention to an already high-profile case.

The Post also reports that DeFoor recently appeared to be using the name “Julia” on social media, though police have referred to the suspect using male pronouns. At this time, it remains unclear how DeFoor personally identifies, and authorities have not commented further.

A Facebook profile under the name Julia DeFoor has drawn intense scrutiny online, largely due to its timing and name change. Law enforcement has not confirmed whether the account directly relates to the alleged incident.

Additional attention has fallen on DeFoor’s family, including posts linked to Bob J. DeFoor, which social media users have circulated while searching for context. Police have not suggested any involvement beyond the suspect himself.

Authorities also noted that DeFoor has had previous legal issues, though details were not fully disclosed in initial reports. Officials said that history is being reviewed as part of the broader investigation.

Local radio station 700 WLW shared the suspect’s mugshot, which quickly spread across X and Facebook. The image intensified public reaction, with opinions ranging from outrage to disbelief.

Video coverage from YouTube showed clear shots of the shattered windows, later echoed by still images circulating online. The visible damage underscored how forceful the alleged attack was.

JD Vance himself addressed the incident in a statement shared on X, thanking law enforcement and expressing relief that no one was hurt. He did not speculate on motive, urging the public to let the investigation run its course.

For now, charges are expected, and the case continues to unfold under intense public attention. What began with a hammer and broken glass has become one of Cincinnati’s most talked-about political crime stories of the year.
