Jamie Lee Curtis says she has ‘lost great friends’ after Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner were found dead inside their Los Angeles home.
Police said they responded to calls to provide medical aid to a property in Brentwood at around 3.38pm local time on Sunday (December 14).
Upon entering the property, officials found 78-year-old Reiner and 68-year-old Michele tragically deceased.
The LAPD Robbery Homicide Division have since been assigned to the case to determine what happened.
Tributes have been pouring in for the married couple, including from Curtis and her husband Christopher Guest, who starred in the Hollywood legend’s directional debut, This Is Spinal Tap, as well as The Princess Bride.

Curtis said in a statement: “Christopher and I are numb and sad and shocked about the violent, tragic deaths of our dear friends Rob and Michele Singer Reiner and our ONLY focus and care right now is for their children and immediate families and we will offer all support possible to help them.
“There will be plenty of time later to discuss the creative lives we shared and the great political and social impact they both had on the entertainment industry, early childhood development, the fight for gay marriage and their global care for a world in crisis. We have lost great friends. Please give us time to grieve.”
Police have since arrested and charged Rob and Michele’s middle child, 32-year-old Nick Reiner.
Nick was arrested Sunday and charged on Monday (December 15) with a felony-level crime, according to the LASD Inmate Center records.
He most-notably co-wrote 2016’s Being Charlie, which his father directed. The movie is based loosely on Nick’s addiction struggles.

Prior to Nick’s arrest, the LAPD said detectives had been interviewing a family member about the deaths, though reiterated that they were not ‘looking for anyone as a suspect or in any other manner at this time’.
“We’re going to try to speak to every family member that we can to get to the facts of this investigation,” said Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton.
Alongside Lee Curtis and her partner, tributes have been pouring in for Rob and Michele from all walks of life, including from California Governor Gavin Newsom.
Rob, who has long supported the Democrats, ‘was a passionate advocate for children and for civil rights’, according to Newsom.
The politician added in a statement: “Rob will be remembered for his remarkable filmography and for his extraordinary contribution to humanity.”
