New evidence suggests Saudi national Omar Al-Bayoumi, once dismissed as unlikely to be involved in 9/11, may have played a key role in aiding the hijackers. A former CIA analyst now believes Bayoumi acted as an al-Qaeda facilitator, helping two terrorists avoid detection.

Bayoumi had contact with hijackers Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar in 2000 and allegedly helped them settle in the U.S. Evidence from his 2001 apartment and a 1999 video he recorded in Washington—featuring security points and landmarks—has raised concerns, though Saudi officials claim it was just a tourist video.

Sketches and calculations tied to him suggest possible knowledge of flight paths and descent angles, though he claims they were from high school studies. Despite the suspicions, Bayoumi was never charged and now resides in Saudi Arabia.
