In response to regretful voters, Trump delivers an 8-word reply amid new approval ratings

Trump’s Sharp Response to Critical Voters

Donald Trump recently responded to voters who have voiced criticism after his first 100 days back in office.

Marking the Milestone

On April 29, Trump celebrated his 100th day as the 47th president of the United States. During an interview with ABC News’ Terry Moran, Trump highlighted his accomplishments, from tackling illegal border crossings to addressing the rising cost of eggs.

Addressing the Economy

When Moran mentioned the economy as a top concern for many Americans, Trump focused on his trade war with China. He acknowledged that tariffs had increased costs for American families but emphasized the need for change. Moran asked about voters who regretted their decision, saying, “People are worried, even some who voted for you…”

Trump’s Sharp Retort

Trump wasted no time in responding with a firm eight-word retort: “Well, they did sign up for it, actually.”

Campaign Promises and Economic Changes

Trump argued that his economic policies were central to his campaign. He claimed the U.S. had been “abused by other countries” and said his approach was necessary to correct these imbalances. He pointed to improvements, such as falling energy prices.

He added, “Gasoline prices dropped to $1.98 in some states, down from $3.50 and $4.00. Eggs have dropped 87% since I got involved.”

The Bigger Picture

Trump reassured Americans, claiming, “Everyone’s going to be just fine. It’s all heading in the right direction.”

Polling Numbers Amid Controversy

Despite Trump’s optimism, recent polls reflect his lowest approval ratings in decades. An ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll revealed 55% disapproval of his first 100 days. Additionally, a New York Times and Siena College poll showed just 42% approval, with 66% describing his second term as “chaotic.”
