Icon passes away at 82

Patrick Adiarte, best known for his role as Ho-Jon on the first season of the hit sitcom MASH*, passed away Tuesday at the age of 82. Born in the Philippines, Adiarte made his mark early in Hollywood through a string of memorable musical roles.

He appeared in major film adaptations of Rodgers and Hammerstein classics, including The King and I and Flower Drum Song, where he showcased his singing and dancing talents.

His career spanned both film and television. During the 1970s, Adiarte made guest appearances on iconic shows like Bonanza, The Brady Bunch, Hawaii Five-O, and Kojak, earning him a respected place among television’s familiar faces.

In 1972, he joined MASH* as Ho-Jon, the camp houseboy. Though his role lasted just one season, it left a lasting impression on fans of the beloved series. His portrayal brought warmth and depth to the character, making Ho-Jon one of the show’s early fan favorites.

Adiarte’s career was notable for its versatility, moving seamlessly between dramatic and comedic roles, musicals and prime-time dramas. While he eventually stepped away from the entertainment industry, his contributions to classic American television and film remain significant.
