High school students waltz to Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’.

A group of teenagers danced gracefully across the gymnasium floor, crafting a scene reminiscent of a fairy tale with their stunning performance that honored the classic beauty of a centuries-old waltz while infusing it with the emotional depth of a modern song.

In a remarkable event that blended tradition, sophistication, and contemporary flair, the Weöres Sándor Primary School and Gymnasium in Hungary celebrated its ribbon-opening ceremony in a truly spectacular way.

The highlight of the ceremony was the enchanting Viennese waltz performed by students to Ed Sheeran’s heartfelt ballad “Perfect.”

This fusion of classical dance and modern music created a memorable experience, reflecting the school’s dedication to both heritage and innovation.

The students, with the girls in elegant white gowns and the boys in sharp suits, glided smoothly across the gymnasium floor, showcasing their precision and grace. Their synchronized movements and flowing turns beautifully echoed the lyrics of “Perfect,” a song Sheeran wrote for his wife Cherry Seaborn, whom he met during their school days.

Rich in tradition

The students’ elegant performance of the Viennese waltz was truly impressive, but the dance itself is a classic, celebrated for its timeless charm as one of the oldest styles of ballroom dancing.

Dating back to a time when royalty hosted lavish events, the Viennese waltz emerged from an era where dance was a refined art form, embodying grace and tradition, quite unlike the modern interpretations we see today.
