Heartbreaking Baby News Revealed by Meghan Markle

A Rare Glimpse Into Her Personal Struggles
The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, offered a rare and deeply personal look into her life during a new episode of her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder. In a candid conversation with Reshma Saujani, founder of Girls Who Code and a fellow miscarriage survivor, Markle revisited one of the most painful chapters of her life — the loss of her second child.

A Painful Memory Revisited
Markle first revealed the miscarriage in a 2020 essay for The New York Times. She recalled feeling a “sharp cramp” while changing her son Archie’s diaper in July of that year. Soon after, she was rushed to the hospital in Los Angeles. Reflecting on that moment in the podcast, Markle shared, “I’ve spoken about the miscarriage that we experienced, and I think in some parallel way, you have to learn to detach from the thing you have so much promise and hope for. You have to be okay, at a certain point, to let something go — something you planned to love for a long time.”

Prince Harry’s Emotional Account
Prince Harry also described the heartbreaking event in his memoir Spare. He wrote about leaving the hospital feeling “totally hopeless” and recalled how the couple “both wept.” He tenderly remembered burying “a tiny package” under a banyan tree, a secret place known only to them.

Public Reactions and Support
After the episode aired, social media flooded with messages of compassion. One user wrote, “Be kind to everyone. No one knows what they’re dealing with.” Another added, “You stay strong, Meghan.” Others praised her bravery: “It’s very brave of you to talk about this. Thank you.”

Discussing Postpartum Health Challenges
The Duchess also spoke about another serious health scare she faced after childbirth — postpartum preeclampsia. She discussed the condition with Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd, noting their “very similar experiences.” Markle explained that many mothers suffer in silence, saying, “The world doesn’t know what’s happening quietly. And in the quiet, you’re still trying to show up for people — mostly for your children — but those things are huge medical scares.”

Raising Awareness Through Honesty
Postpartum preeclampsia, according to the Mayo Clinic, is a rare but dangerous condition marked by high blood pressure and protein in the urine shortly after childbirth. It requires immediate medical attention to prevent seizures and other complications.

Through her openness, Meghan Markle continues to shed light on the hidden struggles many women face — encouraging empathy, honesty, and awareness for maternal health and emotional healing.
