George W. Bush welcomes grandson named in honor of great-grandfathers

George W. Bush is excited about his expanding family!

The 78-year-old ex-president of the United States happily shared the news of his new grandson’s birth on social media.

On Tuesday, August 6, Bush posted a sweet picture on Instagram to celebrate the arrival of his daughter Barbara Pierce Bush and her husband Craig Coyne’s second baby.

The couple, who have a 2-year-old daughter named Cora Georgia, just welcomed their baby boy, Edward Finn, into their family a few days ago.

In the heartwarming picture, Barbara and Craig are holding their newborn son in a hospital bed, their faces shining with happiness as they look at their little boy with love. “Welcome to the world, Edward Finn Coyne. @laurawbush and I are thrilled to be the grandparents of our newest addition, who was born on August 4 and named after his great-grandfathers,” Bush shared in his post. “Big congratulations to Barbara, Craig, and big sister Cora Georgia!”

Barbara’s twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager, shared the exciting news on Monday, August 5. Jenna, who co-hosts the Today show, posted on Instagram to show how thrilled she is to be an aunt once more.

Jenna, 42, shared a bunch of adorable photos after her little nephew Edward Finn was born, saying, “I totally fell in love with my sissy’s baby!” ❤️ In one pic, she’s feeding Edward, and in another, her mom Barbara is holding him while Jenna looks on with a big smile. There’s also a sweet shot of Edward sleeping soundly in his mom’s arms.

Jenna didn’t share much about her nephew’s birth, but the pictures show how happy the family is. Interestingly, Edward was spotted wearing a hat from NYU Langone Health, which Today.com mentioned, suggesting that Barbara might have had the baby at that famous hospital in New York City.

George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, have expressed their joy about becoming grandparents before. When their daughter Barbara and her husband Craig welcomed their baby girl, Cora, the former president and first lady made a special announcement together to share the wonderful news.

We are super excited to share that @laurawbush and I have a new granddaughter! Barbara welcomed little Cora Georgia Coyne into the world on September 27, 2021, in Maine, close to where Barbara and Craig tied the knot. Cora is doing great and is absolutely adorable! We feel so proud and thankful.

What a lovely addition to the Bush family!
