Friday morning’s Fox & Friends broadcast took an unexpected turn when the co-anchors paused the show to share a major announcement, one that quickly caught viewers’ attention.
Co-anchors Ainsley Earhardt, Brian Kilmeade, and Griff Jenkins announced that fan-favorite journalist Aishah Hasnie is getting a new on-air role that marks a notable schedule shakeup at the network.
A New Weekend Anchor Takes the Spotlight
During the live broadcast, the Fox & Friends team announced that Hasnie will begin anchoring Fox News Live on Saturdays from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., starting Saturday, January 10.
Hasnie, 41, joined Fox News in 2019 and has steadily become a familiar face across the network, frequently guest-hosting and reporting from Washington, D.C.
“I can’t wait to get out there and hit the ground running and maybe bring some hope and optimism to everybody,” Hasnie said on air. “I think we need it.”
Her first broadcast is set to feature high-profile guests, including John Thune, Marty Makary, Tom Cotton, and the hosts of the Ruthless podcast.
“Cancel All Your Plans”
Hasnie didn’t shy away from promoting the new show, encouraging viewers to tune in.
“Make sure you’re tuning in,” she said during the segment. “Cancel all your plans…and sit down with me. We’re going to cut through all of the nonsense in Washington.”
Earhardt followed with heartfelt praise, highlighting Hasnie’s journey at the network.
“I’ve known you for years,” Earhardt said. “You used to be in New York, and you moved down to D.C. to cover the White House, and have done a great job.”
Hasnie responded by pointing out a shared path between the two.
“I was an overnight anchor just like you, Ainsley!” she said.
“I know, I know,” Earhardt replied. “And it’s always amazing for our audience. They support us, and they love us. They watch us every day to see someone rise up in the ranks — and that’s what we’ve all done.”
What Viewers Can Expect
When Kilmeade asked what viewers should expect from her weekend show, Hasnie made it clear that the focus would extend beyond traditional headlines.
“There is so much news that happens over the weekend — breaking news and all the serious things,” she said. “But we’ll also address the kitchen-table topics that people truly care about. Things that maybe we don’t normally cover.”
Her goal, she added, is for viewers to walk away feeling sharper and more informed.
“I want people to walk away with an extra wrinkle in their brain,” Hasnie said, “and have a little nugget to chew on.”
The lighthearted moment ended with Kilmeade jokingly asking whether the show would include “swimming with sharks,” as Earhardt and Jenkins congratulated Hasnie on her promotion.
With the announcement delivered mid-broadcast, the moment served as both a celebration and a clear signal: Fox News’ weekend lineup is getting a fresh new face, and viewers are being invited along for the ride.
