The former CEO of Astronomer is getting ready to sue Coldplay. The claim is about emotional distress and invasion of privacy after he ended up on a stadium screen during a concert.
Sources say it happened during a public show with close to 70,000 people in the crowd. Cameras were everywhere, and he says he didn’t consent to being filmed.
One attorney said that in that kind of setting, “your expectation of privacy is literally zero or none.” The same lawyer pointed out that the former CEO was allegedly caught having an affair with his head of HR. He said it looks like the lawsuit is just a way to shift the blame.
The man says he never gave permission to be shown and feels like he was humiliated. He said: “He’s sad that his reputation is gone and now he’s a meme, which his not what he signed up for when he paid to get tickets to the concert.
“If we were getting creative, a possible claim would be for defamation, specifically since it linked to Chris Martin characterizing the two as having an affair.”
So far there’s no word on whether the case has been filed. The lawyer said the legal outcome will depend on how it plays out.
