Fetterman Defends Trump Against ‘Autocrat’ Claims
Pennsylvania Democratic Senator John Fetterman recently defended President Donald Trump against allegations that he is an “autocrat.” Speaking in an interview on CNN’s Inside Politics, Fetterman emphasized that Trump’s presidency is the result of a legitimate democratic election, stating, “This is not an autocrat. This is a product of a democratic election.”
Fetterman also criticized Democrats who compare Trump to figures like Adolf Hitler, calling such rhetoric “outlandish” and counterproductive. He urged a reduction in political hostility to prevent further violence, particularly in the wake of the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
These remarks reflect Fetterman’s consistent call for a more measured approach in political discourse, encouraging his party to focus on facts rather than extreme comparisons.
