Overcoming Dyslexia: Dylan’s Journey
Dylan’s path hasn’t been without challenges. At age 15, he gave a heartfelt speech in New York about living with dyslexia. He shared how teachers and classmates once doubted his progress, mocking his reading struggles. His parents arranged testing, which confirmed his diagnosis.
In 2009, Michael and Catherine moved the family from Bermuda to New York so Dylan could attend a special school, The Windward School, designed to support his learning needs. Michael has spoken openly about Dylan’s dyslexia, saying, “Our children make us proud.”
Rising Beyond Challenges: A Young Leader in Politics and Media
Despite the hurdles, Dylan has thrived. A 2022 Brown University graduate, he has already made waves in politics and media. While still in college, he served as deputy campaign manager for a major congressional race. Then, he co-founded Make Room, a political action committee supporting progressive young candidates.
In 2024, Dylan launched Young American with Dylan Douglas on SiriusXM, a show aimed at engaging Gen Z voters ahead of the elections. Originally planned as a limited series, it has since been extended indefinitely.
A Passion for History and Public Service
Outside politics, Dylan pursues his passion for history as an amateur historian. His journey from struggling with dyslexia to becoming a rising star in entertainment and politics inspires many. Fans and family alike celebrate not only his talent but his resilience and determination.
