Fans notice a concerning detail in a recent photo of Martha Stewart – and everyone is talking about it.

Martha Stewart Under Fire for “Tone-Deaf” Post

Martha Stewart, beloved by fans around the world, is facing backlash after a recent social media post during a Greenland trip.

The Controversial Post

Earlier this year, Martha made waves in a positive light, appearing in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. However, her latest Instagram post on August 29 hasn’t received the same warmth. In a photo taken from a cruise along Greenland’s east coast, Stewart posed with a cocktail. The caption read:
“End of the first zodiac cruise from @swanhelleniccruises into a very beautiful fjord on the east coast of Greenland. We actually captured a small iceberg for our cocktails tonight.”

Backlash Begins

What Stewart likely meant as a playful comment sparked outrage. Critics took issue with her use of a “small iceberg” for a drink, calling it tone-deaf given climate concerns.

“Martha, the ice caps are melting—don’t put them in your drink,” one Instagram user said. Others echoed similar sentiments.

Fans React Strongly

One follower wrote, “I usually love Martha and the luxuries she shares, but using iceberg ice in a drink while the planet burns is out of touch.”
Another commenter noted, “So as the climate warms due to a few profiting, billionaires vacation to melting icebergs and use them for cocktails. It sounds like dystopian fiction.”
A longtime fan expressed disappointment: “Global warming, melting ice caps, and you’re using glacier ice for drinks? Tone-deaf. I’ve admired you for years, but seeing this excess while I struggle to buy groceries is disheartening.”

A Different Kind of Spotlight

Back in May, Stewart posed for Sports Illustrated, becoming the magazine’s oldest cover model at 81. She shared her wellness routine on the Today show, revealing she cut out bread and pasta for months and stayed committed to Pilates. Her dedication inspired fans.
“The response was so encouraging,” Stewart said during a keynote speech, “making women of all ages believe, ‘If she can do it, I can too.’”
