McDonald’s Accused of Adding Bacon to Muslim Family’s Meal
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has accused a McDonald’s restaurant of intentionally adding bacon to a Muslim family’s meal.
Incident in Decatur
The family, visiting from New York, ordered 14 sandwiches at a Decatur McDonald’s. While eating, they noticed an unusual taste. Khaula Hadeed, head of CAIR’s Alabama chapter, explained, “They eat McChicken all the time and knew exactly what they ordered.” The family soon discovered the bacon, which Islam strictly forbids.
A Serious Allegation
Hadeed believes this was no accident. She stated, “It doesn’t seem like a mistake, especially with 14 sandwiches. This is an intentional act of religious and ethnic bigotry.”
Demand for Investigation
Hadeed is now calling for an investigation. She reported that one adult vomited twice and that the family felt deeply disturbed. “McDonald’s must investigate, identify those responsible, and apologize,” Hadeed demanded.
Public Reaction
The incident has sparked heated debate online. Some readers expressed support for the family. One commented, “I can believe someone put bacon in their sandwiches to humiliate them. That’s un-American.” Another added, “Decatur is a hotbed of alt-right, religious fanatics.”
Skepticism from Others
However, not everyone agreed. Some readers were skeptical, with one claiming it was a scam. “They probably picked an Alabama McDonald’s for attention,” said one. Another doubted the incident, stating, “Most employees aren’t checking who their customers are.”
This ongoing debate highlights a divide over the incident, with both support and skepticism surrounding the family’s claims.
