Today‘s Savannah Guthrie found new love after going through a divorce.

The NBC anchor was previously married to Mark Orchard from 2005 to 2009. Before the split was finalized, Guthrie met Michael Feldman, whom she went on to wed in 2014. Their journey to marriage, however, nearly ended before it began.

During a February 2025 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Guthrie revealed that she broke up with Feldman the day they got engaged. “We had, at that point, been dating for five-and-a-half years. And again, we weren’t 20 when we got married,” she explained. “My mother was like, ‘You two, you need to either do it or don’t. Just do something.’”

Guthrie took the fact that they hadn’t decided on their next steps as a sign their relationship was coming to an end, so much so that she assumed a proposal wasn’t going to happen on a beach trip she and Feldman took.

“I was like, ‘Well, honey, we love each other, but this has been going on too long. So, I think let’s just say goodbye. Let’s just let each other go,” Guthrie shared, noting that they agreed to enjoy one last day together.

Feldman ultimately popped the question as they grabbed a drink at sunset. “It was so shocking to me, and I was so happy,” Guthrie gushed.

Do Savannah Guthrie and Michael Feldman have kids?

Guthrie was four months pregnant when she and Feldman tied the knot in March 2014. That August, the couple became parents with the birth of their daughter, Vale. Their family continued to grow with the birth of their son, Charles (Charley for short), in December 2016.

“I got to have babies long past the time that anyone would really be hopeful, [and] I had long given up hope,” she told People in February 2024 of having kids later in life. She added, “I’m so grateful, but I’m always mindful of talking about that too, because we all have moments in our lives where we don’t feel that the thing we wanted to happen has happened, or we don’t feel that we have been blessed.”

Where do Savannah Guthrie and Michael Feldman live?

Guthrie grew up in Arizona, and she and Feldman got married in her hometown of Tucson. Currently, the couple and their two kids live in New York City due to Guthrie’s role as the coanchor of NBC’s Today.

What is Michael Feldman’s job?

Unlike Guthrie, Feldman does not work in the world of TV news. He formerly worked as a Democratic political aide, senior advisor, and traveling chief of staff for former Vice President Al Gore during former President Bill Clinton‘s time in the White House.

Feldman has since stepped away from politics and currently works as a business consultant and the North American cochairman of FGS Global.
