Erika Kirk’s heartbreaking baby confession after husband’s murder

In a recent interview, Charlie Kirk’s widow made a painful confession about the family she will never have, and the dreams that died when her husband was brutally gunned down in broad daylight.

Charlie Kirk, a prominent conservative figure and founder of Turning Point USA, was killed on Sept. 10, 2025, during a public appearance at Utah Valley University. The event was intended to mark the beginning of his “American Comeback Tour,” a campus campaign intended to reconnect with young conservative voters.

Instead, it marked the end of his life.

As he stood under a white pop-up tent engaging with students at his signature “Prove Me Wrong” table, a gunshot rang out. In an instant, Kirk, just 31, collapsed in front of the crowd after being struck in the neck.

The scene, captured on video, showed confusion and panic as people realized what had happened.

Tyler Robinson

Authorities launched an immediate manhunt, and by the following day, they had arrested a suspect.

Tyler Robinson, 22, was taken into custody on Sept. 11 after what officials described as an extensive search.

According to prosecutors, the shooting was premeditated and politically motivated. In a press conference later that month, Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray confirmed that Robinson would face multiple charges, including aggravated murder, and announced that the state would seek the death penalty, People reports.

In the days that followed, Newsweek writes that Kirk’s widow was granted a protective order, legally prohibiting Robinson from contacting her in any form.

Trump’s tribute

The killing of such a high-profile figure sparked national outrage and mourning. Shortly after Kirk’s death, President Donald Trump shared a tribute on Truth Social to man he called “the great, and even legendary.”

“No one understood or had the heart of the youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!” he wrote.

Prayed she was pregnant

For Erika – Kirk’s wife since 2021 – the tragedy unfolded in her home, in the empty space left behind by a man who was not only a political voice, but a husband, father, and a partner to build their future.

Appearing on The Megyn Kelly Show, Erika, 37, reflected on the emotional toll her husband’s murder and unpacked the layers of loss that now define her days.

The conversation was somber and intimate, revealing not just her grief, but the devastating reality that her family’s future had been abruptly and irrevocably altered.

Erika went on to share that she and Kirk, already parents to a 3-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son, had always wished for a larger family.

“I was praying, both of us were, we were really excited to just expand our family,” the new Chairman and CEO of Turning Point USA said. “We wanted to have four.”

But when her husband was killed, that dream died with him.

“And I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he got murdered. I was like, ‘Oh goodness, that would be the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe,’” a teary-eyed Erika shared.

‘Don’t put it off’

Reminding people that life is uncertain, she said she’s now urging couples to have children – before it’s too late.

“Now when I see young couples, I tell them, ‘Please, like don’t put it off,’ especially if you’re a young woman, don’t put it off,” Erika told the host on the episode that aired Nov. 24. “You can always have a career. You can always go back to work. You can never just go back to having children, and they grow so fast and so quickly.”

Now left to raise their two young children alone, Erika Kirk continues to grieve not only the man she lost, but the life they never got to finish—one that included the hope of more children, more memories, and a future now out of reach.
