Elon Musk Slams Trump Over ‘Epstein Hoax’ Claim
Trump’s Controversial Epstein Files Stance
President Donald Trump’s comments about the Jeffrey Epstein files have stirred major backlash, even from his own supporters. Calling the Epstein investigation a “hoax,” Trump criticized his followers as “weaklings” for believing the controversy. He accused Democrats of fabricating the scandal and defended his administration’s refusal to release the files.
Trump’s Backlash Over Broken Promises
During his presidential campaign, Trump promised to release the Epstein client list, a move that gained him significant support. However, the files remain sealed, fueling anger among many of his loyal followers. Some accuse him of protecting powerful individuals linked to Epstein.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote, “These Scams and Hoaxes are all the Democrats are good at… Their new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax, and my PAST supporters have bought into this ‘bullshit,’ hook, line, and sinker.”
He went further, saying, “I have had more success in 6 months than perhaps any President… but all they want to talk about is the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax… I don’t want their support anymore!”
Trump also blamed former Presidents Obama and Biden, as well as ex-FBI Director Comey, for fabricating the files during a White House press event.
Supporters React with Anger and Betrayal
Many of Trump’s former supporters expressed outrage over his shift on the Epstein issue. Comments like “You’re losing your most loyal followers” and “Why are you protecting pedophiles?” have flooded social media. This U-turn has alienated some of the very base that helped elevate Trump.
Elon Musk Strikes Back
Elon Musk, once a friend of Trump, openly challenged the president’s “hoax” theory on X (formerly Twitter). Musk highlighted that Epstein’s close associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, remains in federal prison for sex trafficking—undermining the idea that the case is a sham.
Musk tweeted, “Wow, amazing that Epstein ‘killed himself’ and Ghislaine is in federal prison for a hoax.” He later added, “Not a single Epstein client has been prosecuted. Not even one.”
In just over an hour, Musk posted 13 tweets criticizing Trump and condemning how the Epstein case has been handled. He remarked, “So many powerful people want that list suppressed.”
A Friendship Gone Sour
Musk’s relationship with Trump has soured, especially since June when Musk implied on X that Trump himself appears in the Epstein files, which might explain their secrecy. Musk later deleted the post and apologized for some remarks.
