His statements come as “Trump 2028” merchandise, bearing slogans like “rewrite the rules,” hits the market—hinting at a push to challenge or bypass the term limit law.

Legal experts say three potential workarounds could be explored: Trump running as vice president, becoming VP and then assuming office, or amending the Constitution—all of which would face legal and political obstacles.

Trump himself has floated the idea in interviews, saying many people encourage him to run again, though he’s avoided specifics. In a recent interview with TIME, he hinted at known “loopholes,” but added, “I don’t believe in using loopholes.”
