Donald Trump war:ns the US government

Donald Trump has warned of a potential government shutdown if a temporary spending bill is not passed soon. The current bill, introduced by House Speaker Mike Johnson in December, has kept the government funded until March 14. Without another measure, a shutdown could force many federal employees to stop working without pay. To prevent this, House Republicans introduced a new bill on March 8 to provide funding through the end of the fiscal year on September 30, with a vote scheduled for March 11.

Trump expressed confidence in the bill’s passage and urged Republicans to support it. However, some Republicans, including Rep. Thomas Massie, oppose the bill, arguing it continues excessive government spending. The last government shutdown occurred under Trump’s administration, lasting 35 days from late 2018 into early 2019.
