Donald Trump says he was “triple sabotaged” at the UN and shares Melania’s reaction to his speech

Trump Cries “Triple Sabotage” at the UN

President Donald Trump has demanded an investigation into what he called “triple sabotage” at the United Nations General Assembly. He also revealed what First Lady Melania Trump said to him after his fiery address.

A Fiery Speech

On September 23, the 79-year-old spoke for nearly an hour at the UN. He blasted open borders as a “failed experiment” and claimed countries supporting them were “going to hell.” He mocked London mayor Sadiq Khan, attacked the UN, and celebrated pulling the U.S. from the Paris climate deal. Trump also dismissed renewable energy as destructive.

During the speech, he even complained about the venue, blaming a “bad teleprompter” and a broken escalator. “If the First Lady wasn’t in great shape, she would’ve fallen,” he joked.

Trump’s List of Grievances

After the event, Trump turned to Truth Social to accuse the UN of sabotage. He outlined three incidents:

  1. The Escalator: He said the escalator to the speaking floor “screeched to a halt,” nearly throwing him and Melania forward.

  2. The Teleprompter: He claimed the machine went completely dark as he began his address.

  3. The Sound System: He alleged world leaders couldn’t hear him unless they wore earpieces.

At the end of the speech, Trump said he asked Melania how he did. Her reply: “I couldn’t hear a word you said.”

“This wasn’t a coincidence,” Trump wrote. “This was triple sabotage at the UN. They ought to be ashamed.”

Calls for Action

Trump vowed to send a letter to the Secretary-General demanding an immediate investigation. He asked that security tapes, especially footage of the escalator’s emergency stop button, be preserved. He added that the Secret Service was now involved.

UN Pushes Back

UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric disputed the sabotage claims. He said the escalator likely stopped because a White House videographer triggered a built-in safety mechanism. The program, he explained, is designed to prevent accidents if someone gets caught in the gears.

Still, Dujarric confirmed the UN will conduct a full review of all three of Trump’s complaints.
