Dolly Parton’s sister is calling on fans to keep the country legend in their prayers.
Just one week after the Nashville icon announced she was postponing her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency due to undisclosed health issues, her sister took to Facebook per PEOPLE to share an emotional update.
“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me. “She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!” Dolly’s sister, Freida Parton, posted on October 7.

On Sept. 28, Dolly Parton, 79, announced she would postpone her Las Vegas residency by nearly a year to prioritize her health. The country legend revealed she is undergoing several medical procedures and needs time to recover before returning to the stage. She explained that she wants to deliver the high-quality show her fans deserve and plans to come back stronger once cleared by her doctors.
Parton was originally set to begin her limited engagement at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in December — her first extended Las Vegas run in more than three decades. The residency will now launch in September 2026.
Parton has not revealed the specifics of her current health condition, though she recently had to withdraw from a Dollywood appearance after being diagnosed with a kidney stone that reportedly caused significant discomfort, according to the BBC. In a video message shared with fans during the September 17 event, the singer explained that the stone had led to an infection, and her doctor advised her to rest and avoid travel until she recovered.
Her health setback comes during an already challenging year for the music icon, who lost her husband of 58 years, Carl Dean, in March at the age of 82.
