Usha Vance previously told Puck News that her husband’s lashes are completely natural, even admitting, “I’ve always been jealous of those lashes.”
Former congressman George Santos also weighed in last year, insisting that Vance isn’t wearing makeup. “I’ve met him in person before he was a senator, and I can confirm he has long eyelashes. They cast a shadow on his waterline when in studios full of lights,” Santos posted on X in October 2024.
Still, social media remains unconvinced. “Yes, he does,” one person replied to Santos. “Is it from Sephora or Ulta?”
Emo Jokes and Maybelline Memes
The eyeliner debate flared up again during a recent meeting between Vance, President Donald Trump, and Irish leader Micheál Martin. Journalist Aaron Rupar shared a clip of Vance speaking and quipped, “JD Vance went heavy on the eyeliner this morning.”
The internet ran with it.
“He’s in his emo phase,” one user joked. Another asked, “Why does this dude always look like he’s about to drop an emo album?”
The beauty jokes kept rolling in. “Maybelline called and said they’ve had to ramp up eyeliner production to keep up with JD Vance’s demand,” someone tweeted.
Even after Vance was booed at the Kennedy Center on March 13, another person joked, “People probably have the same reaction when Vance walks into movies, restaurants, and the eyeliner section at Sephora.”
Are People Just Jealous?
Many of these jokes come from Vance’s critics, but some believe the fascination is rooted in envy. “They’re just jealous of his great eyes,” one defender commented.
