Doctor’s new comments spark renewed fears over Trump’s cognitive abilities.

Doctor Raises Dementia Concerns About Donald Trump Despite Official Health Report

Donald Trump, now the oldest U.S. president to begin a second term, recently received a clean bill of health from his official physician. Still, concerns about his physical and cognitive well-being continue to circulate.

Official Report Declares Trump Fit

In April, White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella declared Trump “fully fit” to serve as Commander-in-Chief. The report stated that Trump stood at 75 inches tall, weighed 224 pounds, and passed routine scans of his heart, throat, eyes, and ears.

Dr. Barbabella also confirmed that Trump had undergone a colonoscopy in 2024. During the procedure, doctors discovered a benign polyp and mild diverticulitis, prompting a follow-up exam in three years.

The report also listed prescriptions for cholesterol management, cardiac prevention, and a cream for a skin condition. Barbabella mentioned Trump’s past cataract surgery and praised his overall physical condition.

“President Trump exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health,” Barbabella concluded. “His active lifestyle supports his well-being.”

Trump Responds to Health Questions

After the exam, Trump told reporters, “I took a cognitive test. I got every answer right.” He emphasized undergoing numerous tests related to the heart and other areas.

New Claims Challenge the Official Assessment

Despite the glowing report, psychologist Dr. John Gartner publicly challenged Trump’s health claims. Speaking on The Dean Obeidallah Show, Gartner pointed to signs of possible frontotemporal dementia, citing declining motor skills and a distinct change in gait.

According to Gartner, Trump’s leg movement—specifically a right leg “swing”—suggests possible neurological damage. “It’s a classic symptom of frontotemporal dementia,” Gartner explained.

Evidence From the Past vs. Present

To back his claim, Gartner compared footage of Trump from the 1980s to recent appearances. In earlier videos, Trump displayed agility—playing volleyball and moving with coordination. In contrast, today he appears to struggle with stairs, stumbles often, and walks unusually slow.

“This isn’t just a ‘he tripped’ moment,” Gartner emphasized. “His gait has noticeably deteriorated.”

Other Experts Agree

Gartner cited confirmation from multiple neurologists, including Dr. Zoffman. She believes the “leg swing” is a telltale sign. “She’s absolutely convinced he has frontotemporal dementia,” Gartner added.

Public Speculation Continues

Alongside cognitive concerns, rumors have also surfaced about Trump possibly wearing a catheter—another sign Gartner says could point to underlying health issues.

So while the White House stands by its glowing health report, outside experts and observers remain skeptical.
