Rep. Jasmine Crockett, a first-term Democrat from Texas, is facing multiple allegations from former staffers who claim she rarely shows up to work and frequently mistreats her staff behind the scenes, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

According to a report by the New York Post, several individuals who have worked for or with Crockett described her as an absentee boss who prefers to spend time at her luxury apartment rather than at her office in the Longworth House Office Building.

The 44-year-old lawmaker is accused of routinely yelling at her staff and creating a hostile work environment.

“She is laying around her apartment, won’t come into the office, and is really just indifferent to staff and will scream at them,” one former aide told the Post.

“She is never in the office and is very disengaged. She does her bulls**t that goes viral, and then freaks out over the most random things.”

Crockett took office in January 2023 and quickly gained attention for her outspoken criticism of President Donald Trump and his allies. Her frequent appearances on cable news and viral moments on social media have made her a recognizable figure in Democratic circles.

However, three sources interviewed by the Post alleged that her public persona differs sharply from her behavior behind closed doors.

The aides claim that Crockett spends little time in her official office and prefers working remotely from her nearby apartment, often for weeks at a time.

“She’s rarely present when the cameras aren’t rolling,” one staffer said.

The staffers also allege that Crockett’s priorities appear more focused on maintaining her online image than legislating or serving her district. One former aide described her as more interested in being a social media influencer than a lawmaker.

Crockett represents Texas’ 30th Congressional District, which includes portions of Dallas. Since arriving in Washington, she has developed a reputation for combative exchanges in congressional hearings and fiery commentary on television.

Neither Crockett nor her office have publicly responded to the allegations as of this writing.

The reported staff turmoil comes amid growing scrutiny of congressional workplace conditions, with the Office of Congressional Workplace Rights encouraging staffers to report abusive behavior by members of Congress.

The claims against Crockett add to a list of recent reports involving lawmakers from both parties facing internal office complaints.
