Dave Coulier of Full House Receives Heartfelt Birthday Message from Wife Following Cancer Recovery

Dave Coulier, beloved for his role as Joey Gladstone on Full House, is celebrating life after remission from Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma — and his wife Melissa marked the milestone with an emotional birthday message.

Melissa Coulier took to Instagram to honor her husband on his 66th birthday, writing:
“This year’s turn feels like the luckiest rotation yet! You’re still here, the brightest light defying the dark. Forever grateful. Love you more than anything DB @dcoulier!”

She added, “Help me wish this man a very happy birthday. 💫

Dave Coulier’s Cancer Journey

Coulier first revealed his diagnosis in November 2024 during an appearance on the Today show. He shared that he initially noticed something was wrong when a common cold was accompanied by a swollen lump in his groin.

“It swelled up immediately,” Coulier recalled. “I thought, ‘Wow, I’m either really sick, or my body’s really reacting to something.’”

Hearing the word “cancer” left the comedian in shock:
“It never happens to you. You always hear about it happening to someone else.”

Throughout his treatment, Coulier remained open with fans, posting updates and even keeping his sense of humor during difficult times.

Support From John Stamos and Friends

Coulier’s longtime friend and Full House co-star John Stamos has been by his side from the very beginning.

“We lost Bob [Saget], and I couldn’t bear losing Dave,” Stamos said in 2024. “So I’ve been with him a lot during this cancer journey of his.”

Stamos frequently visited him and even lightened the mood with a bold show of support, once wearing a bald cap to match Coulier’s shaved head during treatment. While the gesture sparked online criticism, Coulier defended his friend, calling the moment an example of love and humor helping him through hardship.

Remission and New Beginnings

In March 2025, Coulier announced that a biopsy confirmed he was cancer-free:
“One of the few times in my life when ‘zero’ has been a great number to hear.”

That same day brought even more joy as Coulier learned he had become a grandfather. His son, Luc, and daughter-in-law, Alex, welcomed a baby boy, Chance Lee, on March 27.

“It was really amazing,” Coulier shared. “We were like, ‘Oh, this is just too much!’”

A Bright Future Ahead

With his health restored and a new grandchild to love, Dave Coulier is looking forward to life beyond his cancer battle. He has resumed public appearances, reconnecting with fans and even planning shows with John Stamos.

Melissa’s heartfelt tribute highlights the resilience, love, and gratitude that define Coulier’s journey today. From Full House favorite to cancer survivor and now grandfather, Dave Coulier continues to inspire fans with his humor, strength, and unwavering spirit.
