During that infamous Coldplay Concert where Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was caught hugged the head of HR, Kristin Cabot, it seemed obvious to everyone, including Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin, that the couple must be having an affair, When the couple was caught on the kiss cam, and immediately tried to hide from view, Martin said, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

That moment quickly went viral and both Cabot and Byron no longer work for Astronomer. Yet, a source close to Cabot now claims that the couple wasn’t having an affair.

The source told PEOPLE, “Kristin and Andy [Byron] had an excellent working relationship, a great friendship. There was no affair.” Yet, the source does admit that the hug was “inappropriate.” The source said, “It was inappropriate to be hugging your boss at a concert, and she accepts full responsibility for it.” What the source is most upset about is what happened after the concert. “But the scandal, the downfall, the loss of the job — all of that is unfair.”

Does the punishment fit the crime? According to this source, no. Cabot, was separated from her husband at the time of the concert, and she went on to file for divorce on August 13th. The source said, “They are amicably separated and moving forward towards divorce, focused on their families.”

The source even added that Cabot’s husband was also “at the Coldplay concert on a date.”

So, were Cabot and Byron on a date? According to the source, “It was not a company event.” The source added, “There was no company box. It was a night with a big group of friends and an inappropriate moment.”

However, the source claims that Cabot is not “a homewrecker.” The source said, “It is important to note how inappropriately mislabeled Kristin has been — as a homewrecker.” The source added, “It’s unfathomable to witness what has happened, and how devastating it can be, for not just individuals, but entire families.”

Meanwhile, Byron’s wife Megan dropped “Byron” from her name on Facebook, and left her husband after the concert. So, is Cabot a homewrecker?
