Christopher Reeve’s son has grown into adulthood—and bears a striking resemblance to his legendary superhero father

Christopher Reeve’s Son Will: Carrying His Father’s Legacy

Celebrity children often resemble their famous parents, from Michael J. Fox’s twin daughters to Elvis Presley’s grandson. But Christopher Reeve’s son, Will, doesn’t just look like his superhero father—he’s working tirelessly to honor and continue his legacy.

The Face of a Hero

For millions who grew up in the late ’70s and early ’80s, Christopher Reeve defined what a hero looked like. His 1978 debut as Superman earned him a BAFTA award and global fame. Over the years, he starred in three more Superman films, solidifying his place in pop culture history.

But Reeve was more than an actor. He was a director, producer, writer, equestrian, and, later, an advocate for spinal cord injury research. His life changed forever in 1995 when a horse-riding accident left him a quadriplegic. Despite the devastating injury, he refused to give up, founding the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation and championing stem cell research alongside his wife, Dana.

A Childhood Marked by Loss

Tragedy struck again when Reeve passed away in 2004 at the age of 52. Just 17 months later, Dana died from lung cancer, leaving 13-year-old Will an orphan. With resilience that mirrored his father’s spirit, Will stayed grounded, guided by the values his parents instilled in him.

Walking in His Father’s Footsteps

Today, Will Reeve is 27 and a sports journalist for ESPN’s SportsCenter—a role he once promised his parents he would pursue. After interning at Good Morning America and working there as a production assistant while at Middlebury College, Will carved out his own path in broadcasting.

Yet, his professional success is only part of the story. He continues his parents’ mission, raising funds and supporting advancements in technology for spinal injury patients through the foundation they started.

A Legacy of Strength and Hope

Will often recalls one of his father’s most enduring quotes:

“A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.”

In both appearance and character, Will Reeve reflects the heroism his father embodied—reminding the world that the true measure of a hero lies in perseverance, compassion, and the courage to keep going.
