Carrie Underwood fully embraces farm life in Tennesse with faith, family, and fresh produce

Country queen’s Tennessee homestead blends spiritual peace with old-fashioned grit

From the Stage to the Soil

When she’s not dazzling fans on tour or mentoring new talent on American IdolCarrie Underwood is fully immersed in a much quieter world—her peaceful farm just outside Nashville.

There, alongside her husband Mike Fisher and their sons Isaiah and Jacob, the Grammy-winning superstar is living the homesteader dream. From canning homemade cobbler fillings to raising sheep and harvesting peaches, Underwood’s days are filled with simple joys and down-to-earth devotion.

“Canning is the perfect way to make use of everything,” Carrie wrote in a recent post. “I feel accomplished! Yay me!”

Nature, Prayer, and a Visit from ‘Mr. Snakey’

In a post that quickly caught fans’ attention, Carrie shared a deeply spiritual moment and a surprising guest.

While praying out loud in her orchard, Underwood encountered a rat snake hiding in a blueberry bush.

“The devil is always there… watching… lurking,” she reflected. “Even when we feel at our closest with God. BUT God is with us.”

She finished her prayer anyway, fruit in hand, her faith unshaken.

Crochet & Cobblers: A Star with Her Hands in the Dirt

Carrie’s handmade lifestyle even made it to the Idol stage this year, where she appeared wearing a crocheted tomato-themed top she’d made herself. She later named a lamb “Jamal” after Idol winner Jamal Roberts—born the same day as the season finale.

Her green thumb got an extra boost through a collaboration with Epic Gardening, who helped her build a greenhouse during the pandemic. As Carrie put it:

“It feels like little miracles every time I get something [to grow].”

A Kitchen That Tells a Story

The “Before He Cheats” singer isn’t just planting and preserving. She’s feeding her family from the land.

“You look on our plate and everything came from the garden… or my husband, who’s a hunter,” she said on The Dr. Josh Axe Show“It all tastes delicious because it’s food.”

Nothing goes to waste, either. Scraps go to the chickens or compost. “You’re doing something good for you. It feels good to physically do all these things.”

A Star Rooted in Faith and Simplicity

Whether she’s crocheting in the greenhouse or praying among the peach trees, Carrie Underwood is showing fans that celebrity doesn’t have to mean excess. Sometimes, it means getting back to your roots.

And on her farm, Carrie’s not just growing food—she’s growing faith, family, and joy.
