Body language expert breaks down Trump’s ‘rage’ as he got hit in the face by reporter with boom mic live on TV

A body language expert has revealed what the president was really feeling after he got hit in the face by a boom mic live on TV.

Donald Trump was attending a press briefing in Maryland on Friday (March 14) when he was suddenly struck in the face with a large, fuzzy boom mic, also known as a muff.

The muff grazed past his mouth and slid across his face in the bizarre moment while the POTUS leaned back and shot the reporter a glance.

Extended microphones are used by reporters to keep their distance from the camera shot when interviewing, but clearly on this occasion, the distance between Trump and the muff was somewhat miscalculated.

The president shot the reporter, a woman, some daggers before raising his eyebrows and laughing as he asked someone off camera: “Did you see that?”

Trump soon commented on the incident, saying: “She just made television tonight. She just became a big story tonight.”

Now, a body language and behavioural expert has lifted the lid on what was possibly going through his mind in the moment.

Speaking on behalf of Prime Casino, Darren Stanton said there were some giveaway signs that Trump was holding back his anger, from the ‘tightening of his eyebrows’ and ‘hardening of his eyes’ that ‘flashed’ across his face.

Stanton also observed how the president bit his lip for a brief moment and said this is often a sign of ‘someone trying to hold back their rage.’

“Trump displayed a combination of anger, shock and disbelief,” he explained. “It flashed across his face for just a second. He was about to draw breath but then bit his lip, almost biting back the rage.

“It appeared to be an instinctive reaction coming from a place of anger.”

The pro went on to say how Trump’s emotions were written all over his face and apparently couldn’t hold back his rage ‘massively well.’

“He is a very proud man and it made him look a bit silly,” Stanton continued. “You can also see the tightening of his eyebrows and the hardening of his eyes. This shows he was thrown off his train of thought and that the disruption made him very angry.”

The somewhat amusing blunder went viral on social media with many saying the POTUS took it like a champ while others slammed the reporter for making such an amateur mistake.

One person wrote: “A reporter just HIT President Trump with a microphone. But 47 handled it like a PRO.”

Another said: “How on Earth did a reporter get that boom mic so close to Trump’s face? This just doesn’t seem right. Security should tighten up. Embarrassing for the press.”

Others called on reporters to ‘have more respect’ and joked about where the secret service was to protect him.

The moment came after Trump took to his platform Truth Social to reveal that he had a ‘good’ talk with Russian president Vladimir Putin, after trying to strike a peace deal between the nation and Ukraine amid its three-year war.
