Beloved Hallmark Actress Dies At 84

Paula Shaw, a Canadian actress known for both Hallmark movies and horror films, has passed away at the age of 84. Her death was confirmed by The Max, a personal development workshop where she taught for more than thirty years.

A statement on their website said: “With heavy hearts, we share that Paula passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. Paula touched countless lives through The MAX, the Mastery, and her transformational work. Her legacy lives on in the communities she created and the lives she changed.”

She was born on July 17, 1941, in West Vancouver, British Columbia, and from an early age she had a love for performing that carried her into a long career in entertainment. She worked in film, television, and theater for decades.

Shaw is remembered by many for playing Mrs. Voorhees in the 2003 crossover Freddy vs. Jason, which gave her a link to the Friday the 13th series and made her part of horror film history. She was also known for playing caring and warm roles in many Hallmark Channel productions, where audiences came to recognize her face.

Her television appearances included shows like The X-Files, The Outer Limits, and Supernatural, where she showed her skill with both dramatic and supernatural stories. She was also in movies such as Life in 1999 and A Guy Thing in 2003, which showed her ability to play both serious and lighter roles.
