Astronomer CEO, Caught at Coldplay Concert, Accused of Alleged Aggressive Behavior Toward Former Employees

Andy Byron is facing more than cheating accusations — he’s also being called a terrible boss.

According to a report from Page Six, the Astronomer CEO, recently seen getting close with a co-worker at a Coldplay concert, had a history of mistreating employees at his previous company, causing several to quit.

A resurfaced write-up by tech and business outlet The Information reported that several former employees of cybersecurity firm Cybereason said Andy Byron would lash out at staff who disagreed with him, even going so far as to threaten to fire them.

Byron was reportedly hired as Cybereason’s chief revenue officer in 2017 and stayed with the company for over two years, according to his now-deactivated LinkedIn profile.

During his time there, the Massachusetts-based executive allegedly caused tension by putting extreme pressure on employees.

According to Page Six a former staffer said, “We started off in the right direction and were very successful, but [with] the pressure to grow employees and revenue, it was never enough to just say we were a fast-growing company. We had to be the fastest-growing.”

Byron’s reported poor management style led many employees to leave the company, according to The Information.

To fill the gaps, he brought in trusted salespeople from his former workplace, Fuze.

When asked about the complaints at the time, Byron said he was hired at Cybereason to help the company grow, which required making “difficult decisions” that may have upset some people. He denied any claims of misconduct.

Fast forward seven years, and Byron is facing fresh backlash.

A viral video captured married Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his HR chief Kristin Cabot in an intimate embrace just as Coldplay’s Chris Martin pointed them out on the kiss cam at Gillette Stadium.

As the camera zoomed in, Martin playfully called attention to the pair, but the mood quickly shifted. Byron abruptly pulled away and ducked behind a barrier, while Cabot turned her face and tried to hide.

When Byron saw himself on the screen, he appeared to exclaim, “f****** hell, it’s me,” prompting laughter from the crowd. Chris Martin added to the moment, joking that the pair were either having an affair or just very shy.

The fallout was immediate for Andy Byron, CEO of the $1.3 billion software company Astronomer, and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot, who joined the firm just nine months ago.

Cabot’s LinkedIn profile, which highlights her ability to “win trust with employees of all levels,” and Byron’s praise of her as a “proven leader” with strong talent management skills, have only added to the irony of the situation.

Their on-camera moment has sparked a social media firestorm, with hundreds criticizing the pair for what many see as a public display of infidelity.
