After a number of false rumors regarding his identity started to circulate online, American Idol Season 23 star John Foster is addressing fans personally. The 18-year-old Louisiana native responded to unfounded allegations on Facebook in a sincere and illuminating message, addressing everything from his age and origin to reports of a record deal with country music icon Dwight Yoakam.

“I would like to address some false information that has been circulating on Facebook in order to help all of my family (followers) get to know me better,” Foster wrote.

Foster’s message touched on a number of topics:He’s not twenty-four.He is eighteen.He is not from Kentucky’s Benton.He is a proud native of Addis, Louisiana.
Even though Kentucky is on his list of places to visit, he admitted, “I’ve never even been there.”
Most significantly, Foster dispelled a notion that had gathered currency among country music fans: that he had signed with Dwight Yoakam under Sugar Hill Records.
He wrote, “There was some false information that I was signed by Dwight Yoakam to Sugar Hill Records.” “That is just untrue.”
Foster reminds fans to stick to verified sources.
