Amber Heard has left the film world behind and started over. She’s now living in Spain with her kids and has taken on a whole new career path.
She announced in May that she welcomed twins, writing: “Mother’s Day 2025 will be one I’ll never forget. This year I am elated beyond words to celebrate the completion of the family I’ve strived to build for years. Today I officially share the news that I welcomed twins into the Heard gang. My daughter Agnes and my son Ocean are keeping my hands (and my heart) full.”
Heard is still living in Madrid, and it looks like she’s going by the name Martha Jane Cannary, which was the real name of Calamity Jane. That’s what she’s using on stage.
She has been posting about her theater work on Instagram for a while now. She’s been part of the Williamstown Theatre Festival and her recent show was called Spirit of the People.
The show included Spanish and English, and she speaks both. Her run just ended, and she posted a picture with a bunch of flowers and wrote: “Thank you to all of my fans and supporters for making this already unforgettable weekend so much more beautiful. The flowers won’t last forever but the memories of all the love and support I received through this, will.”
Critics and fans seem to agree she nailed it. Vanity Fair said: “Amber Heard’s command of the stage, exceptional particularly for someone in her professional theatrical debut. As one of the three emotional anchors in the rangy, often surreal play, her character is cut from the same cloth as Blanche DuBois and her ilk: a torrid backstory and a thinning grasp on reality.
“Heard is not only eloquent and beautiful (and fluent in Spanish), but she embodies the fragility and resilience of a classic Tennessee Williams heroine.”
Fans were cheering her on in the comments too, saying how much they loved seeing her on stage and how proud they were. One said: “Congratulations on an incredibly successful run with your play! It was an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to see you perform & I can’t wait to see what you do next.” Another wrote: “You deserve this. Sending you all the love.”
