Aside from Queen Elizabeth, Princess Diana has remained one of the most famous royal figures of all time. She died in 1997, but people still talk about her like she’s still here. Now, an artist has used AI to show what she might have looked like if she’d lived.

Alper Yesiltas is a photographer and lawyer based in Istanbul, and he’s been creating digital art for years. His latest project uses artificial intelligence to imagine how celebrities would appear today if they were still alive.

The series is called “As If Nothing Happened” and includes Diana, along with others like Michael Jackson, John Lennon, and Elvis Presley.

He said in an interview: “When I started tinkering with the technology. I saw what I could do and thought about what would make me the happiest: I wanted to see some of the people I missed again in front of me.”

The image of Diana is striking. She looks calm, beautiful, and regal, still carrying that same warmth people loved her for.

Diana was born into British nobility and later married King Charles in 1981. The public loved her, but the marriage didn’t work, and they divorced in 1996. A year later, she died in a car crash in Paris.

If she had survived, she would have turned 61 in 2022. People imagine she might have helped her sons repair their relationship and would have gotten to meet Kate, Meghan, and all five of her grandchildren.
