After receiving this photo from me, my husband quickly decided he wanted a divorce.

While practicing target shooting in the woods, I snapped a picture to share with my husband, expecting him to appreciate the peaceful scene. Instead, he asked, “Whose hat is that?”

Confused, I replied, “It’s mine,” referring to the white cowboy hat next to me. He then accused me of still holding on to something from my past, pointing out that the hat looked identical to one my ex-boyfriend used to wear.

Despite my explanation that it was just a random hat, my husband couldn’t shake the feeling that the past was creeping back. The picture had done its damage, and he was already spiraling.
