A Quiet Farewell Amid Public Silence
Just hours after the world learned of Ozzy Osbourne’s d**th, his eldest daughter Jessica Osbourne posted a quiet tribute of her own. Her message came notably after the family released a public statement that did not mention her.
Ozzy Osbourne D**s at 76
On Wednesday morning, July 22, 2025, heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne passed away at the age of 76. His family confirmed the news by noon via a statement shared on Ozzy’s official accounts. The announcement said the iconic Black Sabbath frontman died “surrounded by love.” It was signed by his wife, Sharon, and four of his children: Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis.

Jessica Left Out of the Family Statement
Missing from the tribute was Jessica Osbourne — Ozzy’s firstborn daughter with his ex-wife, Thelma Reese. While her brother Louis appeared in the statement, Jessica’s name was absent. Whether this was intentional or an oversight remains unclear.
A Personal Tribute on Instagram
Later that day, Jessica shared her own tribute. On Instagram Stories, she posted a candid image of her father gesturing at the camera. The caption simply read, “RIP Ozzy.” It was a brief but heartfelt acknowledgment of their connection.
Her brother Louis also responded to the loss by changing his Facebook profile picture to solid black.
Raised Away from the Spotlight
Unlike Jack, Kelly, and Aimee, Jessica and Louis grew up outside the public eye. Their childhood unfolded during Ozzy’s most troubled years — a period marred by substance ab*se and erratic behavior.
Ozzy once admitted, “I was a bad father, an ab*sive husband, and I had an ego the size of India.” In a 2014 interview, he added, “It’s pointless even saying sorry… All I can do is stay sober.”

Sharon’s Role in Ozzy’s Comeback
Ozzy credited much of his later success and stability to Sharon. The two married in 1982, and she helped guide his solo career after his dismissal from Black Sabbath in 1979. Together, they launched Ozzfest in 1996, now one of the world’s biggest rock festivals.
“She always knows what’s going on,” Ozzy said about his wife. “I honestly don’t think I could do anything without Sharon.”
The Family in the Spotlight — and Those Who Weren’t
While Jack, Kelly, and Sharon became household names through MTV’s The Osbournes, Aimee refused to take part in the show but still made occasional public appearances. Louis appeared in a 2002 episode titled A Very Ozzy Christmas.
Jessica, however, remained completely out of the spotlight. Her recent post offers one of the rare public glimpses into her relationship with her father.
A Complicated Family Legacy
As fans and loved ones mourn the loss of a rock legend, Jessica’s subtle tribute highlights the quieter, more complex parts of Ozzy’s family story. Her gesture, though understated, reminds us that grief—and love—often speak loudest in silence.
