After being called “strange” by Donald Trump, Greta Thunberg delivers a sharp comeback

The Trump-Thunberg Feud Heats Up Again

The ongoing clash between President Donald Trump and Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg shows no signs of fading. After Trump publicly dismissed the 22-year-old as “strange” and “too angry,” Greta fired back—and her response quickly went viral.

Greta’s Controversial Detention

Greta Thunberg recently found herself in the global spotlight for a different reason. On June 10, Israeli forces detained and deported her while she was sailing toward Gaza with humanitarian aid. Greta and 11 other activists claim they were “kid.napped in international waters.” Israeli officials deny this, calling the mission a “selfie yacht” and a “media provocation” for publicity.

In a video posted soon after the interception, Greta said, “If you see this video, we have been intercepted and kid.napped in international waters by the Israeli occupational forces.”

Trump’s Harsh Criticism

When asked if he discussed Thunberg with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump didn’t hold back. He called her a “strange” and “young, angry person,” questioning if her anger was genuine.

He added, “I think she has got to go to anger management class. That’s my primary recommendation for her.”

Trump also dismissed her kid.napping claims, saying, “I think Israel has enough problems without kid.napping Greta Thunberg.”

Greta Fires Back

Many saw Trump’s comments as personal att.acks rather than addressing her activism. However, Greta responded with confidence during a stopover in France.

She said, “I think the world needs a lot more young angry women, especially with everything going on right now.”

Regarding her entry into Israel, Greta clarified, “I did not recognize that I entered illegally. We were kid.napped in international waters and forced into Israel against our will.”

The Humanitarian Mission

Greta was part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, aiming to bring aid and raise awareness about Gaza’s crisis. The boat also carried European Parliament member Rima Hassan, journalist Yanis Mhamdi, Al Jazeera presenter Omar Faiad, and others.

“This mission was about delivering aid desperately needed in Gaza,” Greta explained. “It was also about showing solidarity and making sure the world doesn’t stand by silently.”

Greta’s Stark Warning

She condemned the ongoing crisis, calling it a “siege” and accusing Israel of “systematic starvation” of over two million people, describing it as a “full-blown live stream genocide.”

Israel continues to strongly deny any accusations of genocide.
