After months of quiet tension, news broke that Hollywood power couple Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have decided to live apart. Fans and social media reacted with disbelief and sadness, struggling to process the split after 19 years of marriage.
Living Apart
According to TMZ, the couple has been living separately since early summer. Urban quietly moved out of their Nashville home into a different residence. A source told People that Urban initiated the separation, leaving Kidman surprised. “She didn’t want this… She has been fighting to save the marriage,” the source said. Kidman now lives with their two children, aged 14 and 17, doing her best to maintain stability for the family.

Signs of Strain
In recent months, subtle tensions surfaced publicly. In July, Urban abruptly ended a live radio interview in Australia after being asked about Kidman’s intimate scenes with younger co-stars, including Zac Efron. During the Mix 102.3 segment, the hosts were left stunned when Urban’s team cut the call without explanation.
Despite these tensions, Kidman publicly marked their wedding anniversary on June 26 with a black-and-white Instagram photo embracing Urban. “Happy Anniversary Baby ❤️ @KeithUrban,” she captioned it. Urban, however, did not acknowledge the milestone publicly, focusing his Instagram on music performances and promotions instead.
Public Appearances and Affection
The couple had often displayed affection at awards shows and public events. Their last public Instagram appearance together was on May 9, following the ACM Awards, where Urban received the Triple Crown Award. In the photo, they are seated together in a car, with Urban smiling while holding his award.
A Marriage of 19 Years
Kidman and Urban, married since 2006, built a high-profile relationship admired by fans worldwide. In April 2024, she described their relationship to People magazine, calling Urban “my love, my deep, deep love.” Yet, despite their past affection, the couple’s future now remains uncertain.
