Actress, Comedian And Writer Passed Away At 93

Mitzi McCall, passed away on August 8. She was an  American actress and comedian known for her work in television and film. She gained recognition in the 1960s and 1970s for her comedic performances and appearances on various TV shows.

McCall died at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank,California. She was 93.

Mitzi McCall was born on September 9, 1932, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her journey into show business began with a deep passion for performing. Her early career saw her performing in nightclubs and on the radio. Her big break came when she started appearing on television. She made guest appearances on a variety of popular TV shows, showcasing her versatility as an actress. Some of her notable early TV appearances include roles on “The Twilight Zone,” “Bewitched,” “The Andy Griffith Show,” and “The Dick Van Dyke Show.”

In the 1960s, McCall formed a successful comedy duo with her husband, Charlie Brill. The pair became well-known for their performances together, particularly on shows like “The Ed Sullivan Show,” where they famously shared the stage with The Beatles during their historic 1964 appearance.

McCall lent her voice to various animated series, bringing life to characters with her distinctive voice and energetic delivery. Her voice work includes roles in shows like “The Jetsons” and “The Flintstones.”

One of her most memorable TV performances was when she appeared on the Seinfeld episode “The Secretary”. She wore a fur coat belonging to Jerry’s mom while she portrayed the dry cleaner’s wife.
