Dermot Mulroney Makes a Bold Move
Dermot Mulroney made headlines when he walked off The View to show support for striking writers. On Friday’s episode, the actor shocked both viewers and hosts by standing in solidarity with the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike.
A Dramatic Exit
Near the end of his interview, Mulroney politely asked if they were heading to a commercial break. He then thanked the hosts — and made his dramatic exit. Despite this surprise, the segment had already covered lighter topics like his Disney+ series Secret Invasion, his long career, family, and work ethic.
Unedited and On Air
Although pre-taped, the episode aired exactly as filmed, including Mulroney’s walk-off. Typically, The View airs live four days a week, with Friday shows pre-recorded.
Spotlight on the WGA Strike
Mulroney’s bold stance has reignited conversations about the WGA strike, now dragging past 50 days. Earlier this week, hundreds of Hollywood union members rallied in Los Angeles to back the striking writers.
