Cheryl Hines Breaks Silence
Cheryl Hines is opening up about life, love, and navigating public scrutiny in 2024. A year after allegations linked Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to journalist Olivia Nuzzi, Cheryl is addressing marriage rumors. Instead of reacting to past gossip, she uses her upcoming memoir, Unscripted, to reclaim the narrative.
Memoir Reveals Personal Life
In Unscripted, Cheryl explores her experiences, relationships, media attention, and persistent rumors. She shared, “One would deduce that we love each other and are still married and whatever we’ve been through is behind us.”
The controversy began in September 2024 when claims surfaced that Robert had a sexting relationship with Olivia Nuzzi, a New York magazine reporter. A spokesperson clarified that Robert met Olivia only once during an interview.
Neither Cheryl nor Robert publicly detailed the sexting claims. Olivia stated: “Earlier this year, the nature of some communication between myself and a former reporting subject turned personal… I deeply regret not disclosing it immediately and apologize to those I’ve disappointed.”
New York magazine confirmed Olivia had a personal relationship with a former reporting subject. While her reporting showed no bias or factual errors, the magazine placed her on leave, reviewed the matter, and later ended her employment.

Marriage Survives the Scandal
Despite reports suggesting tension, Cheryl and Robert emerged stronger. Sources had noted minimal communication after the scandal. Today, Cheryl’s memoir aims to highlight their lasting bond and resilience under public scrutiny.
From Loss to Love
Robert found love with Cheryl after losing his wife, Mary Richardson, in 2012. Mary’s death was ruled asphyxiation due to hanging. Following this tragedy, Robert focused on activism before meeting Cheryl, who was already a successful actress.
Cheryl, born in 1965 in Miami Beach, Florida, faced her own challenges. After her parents’ divorce, she shared a room with her mother. She pursued acting at the Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles, learning improv under Lisa Kudrow. This path led her to a breakthrough role on Curb Your Enthusiasm.
A Kennedy Wedding
Cheryl and Robert married on August 2, 2014, at the Kennedy family compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts. Initially, they planned a simple City Hall ceremony, but Ethel Kennedy encouraged a family gathering. Cheryl agreed, creating an intimate and meaningful celebration.
Her strapless, pearl-beaded Romona Keveza gown echoed Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’ style, unbeknownst to her. The wedding had memorable moments, including an unexpected visit from Ethel’s dog walking down the aisle.

Celebrating Ten Years
In August 2024, Cheryl and Robert marked their 10th anniversary. Cheryl reflected on the day, recalling dancing with her father, brother, and niece and nephew. She shared gratitude for Robert, saying: “You have given me a life I could’ve never imagined, full of love, laughter, joy, and adventure.”
Cheryl remains active on social media, where fans admire her beauty and charisma. Followers continue to praise her charm, sharing comments like: “Omg you are so beautiful 😍” and “You’ve always been a beautiful woman.”
Supporting Robert’s Career
The couple balances public roles with private life. In 2025, Robert was confirmed as Secretary of Health and Human Services in a 52-48 vote. Cheryl stands by his side as he begins this new chapter in public service.
Moving Forward Together
Cheryl Hines’ memoir promises insight into her life, marriage, and resilience under public scrutiny. Through challenges, love, and media attention, she and Robert continue to grow stronger together.
