A letter to my mother who passed away

Losing a mother is an immense void; their memories and feelings always remain with us. The saying, “you don’t know what you have, till it’s gone,” rings especially true for mothers. I often took my mom for granted, assuming she’d always be there. But the reality of life hit when I had to say goodbye, the most painful moment of my life.

The absence of a mother’s love, guidance, and support is profound. Simple memories, like the meals they cooked or comforting words they said, serve as daily reminders of the love now missing.

Holidays are notably challenging without her presence. Yet, as my mother once told me, “just because someone isn’t around physically doesn’t mean they aren’t in your heart, and sometimes that’s just as important.”

I believe she watches over us from heaven, her voice still guiding me. In her honor, I say, “Thank you, Mom, for your unwavering love. You’re always in my heart.”

Let’s cherish our mothers daily, through small gestures or time spent together, for love and laughter are priceless for our well-being.
