A Different Christmas: Dylan Dreyer Posts Solo Holiday Moments With Her Children and Hints at an Unexpected Family Shift.Dylan Dreyer’s Christmas photos carried a warmth but also an unspoken shift. Celebrating with only her children, she hinted at a change in her family that she didn’t fully explain. That brief, cryptic detail has sparked more questions than answers. See the additional information below for more details.

Dylan Dreyer is gearing up for her first holiday season since separating from ex Brian Fichera.

The Today meteorologist, 44, documented the process of decorating her first Christmas tree with her kids post-split in a series of Instagram posts shared on Dec. 8. Dreyer, who announced her separation from Fichera in July, shares three sons with her ex: Cal, 8, Ollie, 5, and Rusty, 4.

In the first post, Dreyer shared a time-lapse video of her and her kids stringing white Christmas lights around the evergreen. “The only bad part of Christmas is putting lights on the tree,” she wrote in the caption.

The second post includes a number of photos taken throughout the decorating process, starting with her sons each hanging their own ornaments. The tree can be seen standing tall in front of large glass doors overlooking a scenic, waterfront landscape.

In the next slide, Dreyer organizes more decorations she has stored in a black container as her sons watch. After almost all of the decorations are in the right spot, she’s seen placing a red angel on top of the glowing tree in one of the final slides.

“Now it feels like Christmas!!” Dreyer captioned the post.

This is Dreyer’s first holiday season since announcing her split from Fichera in a July 18 Instagram post.

Over a photo of the sun setting at the beach, Dreyer wrote in the caption at the time: “For many years, I have shared my family with you all — the highs and lows, the ups and downs, and all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between. I am incredibly grateful for the support and love you’ve given me through it all. For that reason, I want to share with you that a few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate.”

She continued, “We began as friends, and we will remain the closest of friends. Most importantly, we will continue to co-parent our three wonderful boys together with nothing but love and respect for one another.”

In November, Dreyer got candid about why she and Fichera decided to end their marriage while appearing as a guest co-host on Today with Jenna & Friends alongside Jenna Bush Hager.

While first noting that she did “appreciate everyone s comments” about the personal decision, she went on to explain that “there was something we couldn’t fix” in her and Fichera’s relationship.

“Everybody has their reasons for what leads to a separation or divorce. That’s another story with a lot of wine and that’s a whole different thing, but either way we’ve gotten to this place,” Dreyer explained. “And there’s something freeing, I think, for Brian and I where — whatever reasons, whatever broke in a marriage — you could either fix it if you can and ideally you would and you try, and you try to fix things. Or you accept that it’s broken and you take this new step forward.”

While neither parties appear to have filed for divorce yet, she reiterated that she and Fichera are separated and will “move forward as friends,” with their sons being their main priority.
