Dylan Dreyer Celebrates First Christmas Post-Split
Dylan Dreyer gears up for the holidays. The Today meteorologist, 44, is celebrating her first Christmas since separating from ex-husband Brian Fichera. On December 8, she shared a series of Instagram posts documenting the festive preparations with her three sons: Cal, 8; Ollie, 5; and Rusty, 4.
Decorating the Tree with Her Kids
In her first post, Dreyer shared a time-lapse video of herself and her sons stringing white lights around their Christmas tree. She captioned it: “The only bad part of Christmas is putting lights on the tree.”
The next post showed a series of photos capturing her sons hanging ornaments. The tree stood tall in front of large glass doors overlooking a scenic waterfront view.
In another slide, Dreyer organized decorations from a black container while her children watched. She finished the tree by placing a red angel atop the glowing branches, adding: “Now it feels like Christmas!!”

Reflecting on Her Separation
This marks Dreyer’s first holiday season since announcing her split from Fichera in July. At the time, she shared a sunset beach photo on Instagram, writing:
“For many years, I have shared my family with you all — the highs and lows, the ups and downs, and all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between. I am incredibly grateful for the support and love you’ve given me. A few months ago, Brian and I decided to separate.”
She emphasized their commitment to co-parenting: “We began as friends, and we will remain the closest of friends. Most importantly, we will continue to co-parent our three wonderful boys with love and respect for one another.”

Opening Up About the Marriage
In November, Dreyer spoke candidly about the reasons behind the split during a guest co-host appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends alongside Jenna Bush Hager. She acknowledged the personal nature of the decision, saying:
“There was something we couldn’t fix in our relationship. Everybody has their reasons for what leads to a separation or divorce. Either you try to fix it, or you accept it’s broken and take a new step forward.”
Although Dreyer and Fichera have not yet filed for divorce, she reiterated that they are separated, moving forward as friends, and prioritizing their sons.
