Sally Field’s Ocean-View Paradise
Hollywood legend Sally Field, 77, has been embracing life as a grandmother of five while enjoying her stunning ocean-view home. Her 2,800-square-foot estate in Pacific Palisades offers sweeping views of the ocean, canyon, mountains, and city. Field’s home blends California casual with refined elegance. The interiors feature warm colors, pitched ceilings, a great room with a dramatic stone fireplace, skylights, and custom closets. Outdoors, a grand stone deck with a pergola completes the picturesque setting.
Facing Osteoporosis Head-On
Before turning 60 in 2005, Field received a diagnosis of osteoporosis, a “silent disease” that weakens bones. She explained, “I was thin, small-boned, Caucasian, and heading toward 60. But I was amazed at how quickly I could go from at risk to full-fledged osteoporosis.”
Despite a healthy diet, regular biking, extreme yoga, and hiking, she couldn’t avoid the condition. To treat it, she participated in a drug experiment using Boniva, designed to slow bone loss and support natural bone growth.
Field has shared openly about her health, warning others that early symptoms can include back pain, loss of height, and a stooped posture.
Embracing Family Life
Field treasures her family above all. She has three sons—Peter, Eli, and Samuel—and five grandchildren: Colin, Isabel, Ogden, Noah, and Sophie. Her eldest son Peter Craig’s children welcomed her first grandchild in 1998 and another in 2021. Eli and his spouse Sasha had Noah in 2006 and Colin in 2014. Peter also had Ogden with his second wife.
She often spends time playing with her grandchildren and guiding her sons. Field once said, “The three things I’m most proud of in my life are my sons. They are kind, loving, and productive.”

Supporting Her Children
Field’s sons have followed creative paths. Peter is a screenwriter with hits like The Batman, Top Gun: Maverick, and The Hunger Games installments. Eli is a director and actor, known for Tucker & Dale vs. Evil and Zombieland. Samuel works as a film producer.
Field openly supports her children in all aspects of life, including her youngest son’s coming out. “It’s important to speak about raising a magnificent, proud, intelligent, funny, and lovable gay son,” she explained. She encourages parents to embrace their children fully.
Life in a Dream Home
Field downsized in 2012, selling her 6,000-square-foot Malibu home and buying a three-bedroom, four-bathroom house for $2.3 million. Her Pacific Palisades estate features Brazilian walnut hardwood floors, a chef-ready kitchen with soapstone and butcher block counters, a breakfast bar, pantry, and stainless steel appliances.
The master suite offers a sitting area, walk-in closets, a private balcony, and a spa tub. Guest rooms feature lofts, balconies, French doors, and custom closets. The backyard, with a pergola, stone deck, and lush landscaping, adds to the estate’s charm.
A Life of Strength and Resilience
Through health challenges and public scrutiny, Field has remained candid and resilient. Social media trolls once criticized her appearance, but fans continue to celebrate her beauty, talent, and grace.
Now, Field spends her days surrounded by family, enjoying her grandchildren, and living in a home that reflects her hard-earned success and serenity. Her ocean-view retreat stands as a symbol of elegance, comfort, and a life fully embraced.
